I discovered this photo series last month on Jealous Curator, and I'm so glad I did. Christine Zona (aka Zona Foto) is a portrait photographer currently living in SF after working for Discovery Channel and National Geographic's Raul Touzon. This awesome series, a step out of Zona's usual portrait work, is entitled The Jersey Shore , and is dedicated to reliving the memory of her childhood at the shore. The photos were shot with an "old Polaroid Spectra Camera and a backpack full of expired film", and so surpass the use of filters and Instagram by using the actual materia of the past. So check out the fascinating series below and get a glimpse into the Shore's pre-Snooki past. Also keep an eye out for this Friday's BABEL post, because I'll be talking about why I think this series is way more fascinating than it may appear at first. For now, enjoy these chromatic, rich, and sometimes humorous pics.
